Capturing Love in the Heart of History: Naomi and Ben's York Engagement Shoot

One of the aspects I truly cherish about engagement sessions is the chance to connect with my couples before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day. Meeting them in person not only allows us to get to know each other better but also helps them feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It's a time for us to chat about their wedding plans in more detail and address any questions or concerns they may have.

On a calm February day in York city centre, I looked forward to meeting Naomi and Ben for their Yorkshire engagement session. With their London wedding fast approaching in April, our time in York provided an ideal backdrop to capture their love in a city steeped in history.

York Museum Gardens, St. Mary's Abbey & The Hospitium

Our day began amidst the tranquil beauty of York Museum Gardens, where the air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers and the echoes of centuries past. Here, we explored the enchanting ruins of St Mary's Abbey and the medieval splendor of The Hospitium, finding countless opportunities for quaint and historical photos.

True to my style, I encouraged Naomi and Ben to simply be themselves, capturing natural moments of laughter, affection, and tenderness. Away from the crowds, we wandered down charming cobbled streets towards the majestic York Minster, where the timeless beauty of the surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for our session.

As the day drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and anticipation for Naomi and Ben's upcoming wedding. Our York engagement shoot had been a delightful experience, filled with laughter, love, and genuine connection. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to capture their journey together and eagerly await the magic of their wedding day.
