Lyn & Ronny's Beautiful, Bangor Wedding

14th January 2023

Penrallt Baptist Church & The Management Centre, Bangor

Their Love Story Began

Lyn and Ronny met online on a Christian networking app called 'Christian Connection'; Lyn came across Ronny's profile one day and decided to strike up a conversation with him. Thanks to a miraculous glitch on Ronny's account, they were able to start chatting on the platform and very quickly became good friends before things started to blossom from there.

After two months of chatting online, they decided to meet up for the first time in South Park in Darlington. Ronny was waiting for Lyn at the meeting spot as she arrived in her car; Ronny walked up to Lyn's window to greet her before she leapt out of the car. The moment they made first contact, sparks flew and they knew at that point that they had found something special together.

Two years on, they shared their first holiday together in Rome, where Ronny popped that very special question to Lyn, after Lyn had unknowingly improved the logistical situation of the proposal, since Ronny's initial romantic plan didn't quite work out due to large crowds and a not-so-romantic atmosphere. This apparently very apt scenario led the proposal to take place at a lovely terraced park on a balcony that overlooked the cityscape, to which Ronny decided, 'it's now or never', and asked Lyn to marry him!

Lyn's favourite things about Ronny

"His faith, his heart, his patience and his compassion. He is super laid back and chill, but he will always take a strong stand for something/someone he cares about or is important to him. I trust him completely and always know he will be completely open and honest with me."

Ronny's favourite about Lyn

"What I love about Lyn is how in tune we are with each other's quirks and personalities; there is a very organic and natural aura between us and it's a very soothing relationship we have. We don't have many arguments but when we do we come to an understanding quite easily and we often have a deep reflection to heal each other with. We have a lot of similar interests and shared activities which we enjoy together on a regular basis; we love going out on foodie dates!"

The Wedding Day

Lyn and Ronny's wedding ceremony took place at Penrallt Baptist Church, Bangor. It was a lovely ceremony, full of worship, prayers and love. Vows were exchanged, rings were given, a first kiss was shared, and the wedding certificate was signed. Lyn and Ronny officially became husband and wife! Yay!

Speeches took place directly after the ceremony, with speeches made by Ronny, Lyn, Clement (the Best Man), Jenny (the Maid of Honour), and Lyn's Siblings. Each speech was so lovely and personal, with poems, slideshows, advice, stories, and shared memories, which led to lots of laughter and a few happy tears.

There was a time for tea, coffee and cake, as well as a delicious Hog Roast following the ceremony, which was perfect for the chilly, windy day that it was, allowing guests to congratulate the newly-weds, a time of mingling, and some group photos on the church steps. Following this was a game of Mr and Mrs where Lyn and Ronny swapped a shoe and sat back to back while answering questions like 'who is most likely to...' and 'who is the best at...' etc. giving everyone a good ol' giggle when their answers did not match!

It was then time to head over to the reception which was held at The Management Centre, Bangor, for the rest of the evening's festivities. After Lyn and Ronny's grand entrance into the building, their Twmpath (Welsh Ceilidh) Band kick-started the fun by teaching them a Twmpath dance sequence that gradually brought in more and more guests by changing and adding partners, until every guest was included and dancing away to the live folky music. Many Twmpath dances were taught and enjoyed by many throughout the evening which was so much fun to watch and photograph!

The final dance once again involved everyone, filling the dance floor, which built up everyones appetite just in time for a wonderfully colourful buffet made up of cold meats, pastas, salads, and salmon, and a hot selection of curry, veg, and creamy chicken, and then a broad offering of puddings and cakes - which I can confirm, was absolutely delicious!!

Following the buffet, the night began to draw towards the final festivities. Lyn and Ronny showcased their first dance, which they had coreographed and performed beautifully together, and the night ended with a disco, with plenty of funky moves on the dance floor.

It was such a pleasure to capture Lyn and Ronny's special day! Please enjoy the highlights below :)
